Position Summary A Senior Software Asset Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the acquisition, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and disposal of software applications within an organization. Their goal is to ensure compliance with licensing agreements, optimize software spent, and reduce risks associated with software licensing. What You Will Do: Software Licensing and Compliance
Monitor and manage software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and legal requirements.Conduct regular audits to verify software compliance and address any discrepancies.Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets, licenses, and usage metrics. Asset Management
Develop and implement policies and procedures for software asset management.Track and manage the lifecycle of software assets from procurement to retirement.Maintain a centralized repository of software licenses and related documentation. Vendor Management
Establish and maintain relationships with software vendors and service providers.Negotiate software licensing agreements, renewals, and support contracts.Manage vendor audits and reviews, addressing any findings or recommendations. Cost Optimization
Analyze software usage patterns to identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization.Recommend and implement cost-effective licensing models and agreements.Monitor software expenditures and prepare reports on software asset management metrics. Policy and Governance
Develop and enforce software asset management policies and procedures.Ensure alignment of software asset management practices with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.Provide guidance and training to staff on software asset management best practices. Tools and Technology
Implement and manage software asset management tools and technologies.Integrate software asset management tools with other IT systems and processes.Stay current with industry trends and advancements in software asset management tools and practices. Reporting and Analysis
Generate regular reports on software inventory, usage, compliance, and cost metrics.Conduct analysis to support decision-making related to software procurement and management.Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders. What You Will Bring (REQUIRED Qualifications): 3-5 years of experience in software asset management or related IT asset management roles.Following skills would be required: a) Strong understanding of software licensing models and agreements
b) Proficiency in software asset management tools and technologies.
c) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
d) Strong communication and negotiation skills.
e) Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
