Purpose Statement: Our Endoscopy Research and Development team is seeking an Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about improving patient outcomes across our increasing and wide range of complex systems-based products. Job Responsibilities: Develop product requirements Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests mechanical baed design solutions by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologiesReview electrical, mechanical and optical designs and changes to ensure development of appropriate test methodsDefine strategy and perform product design and testing that will comply with medical device regulationsDevelop and execute test methods and fixtures for design verificationDefine and execute test plans to support design verificationWork closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Optical Engineers to develop opto-electromechanical test methodsProvide mechanical troubleshooting of prototype devices to aid product developmentWork as a "hands-on" Engineer in performing troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality or to assess existing technologiesSolve complex problems and make sound design recommendationsSummarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from complex test resultsPrepare complex reports and communicate results a wide range of audiencesResponsible for engineering documentationProactively builds relationships and collaborates with cross-functional partners to ensure technical deliverables meet stakeholder needsIdentifies and builds relationships with external device manufacturers Job Requirements: Candidate require process at least Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldAt least 8+ years in product developmentProficient with mechanical engineering principlesIn depth knowledge of design verification for a regulated industryProficiency with lab equipment used for characterization of mechanical attributesEffective communications/presentation skills to all levels of the organization (both written and verbal)Experience working within Design Controls or equivalent for Medical Device Industry10-20% travel, including internationalPreferred Qualifications: Medical device experienceMaster's or Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldClinical and technical knowledge of imaging based medical devicesProficient with optical principlesUnderstanding of electrical safety standards (IEC 60601-1), HF (IEC 60601-2-2) and EMI/EMC (60601)About Us
