The designated Senior Network Engineer provides technical expertise and is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, operations and on-going maintenance of the Data Center and Campus networks. The candidate will be required to diagnose and triage technically complex service issues which can stretch across the compute, networks, security, storage and application domains.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Participant in a cross-functional team (consisting of network, storage, compute, security) which will be leading the planning, design, implementation, operations of Paynet's network infrastructure.
Lead network troubleshooting for Serv1, Serv2 and other daily operational issues.
Acts as a supplementary technical lead for the design, installation, operation, service, and maintenance of any BAU network solution and implementation (across various layers).
Capable of architecting and designing a resilient and highly available infrastructure with appropriate considerations given to cost and domain failure risks.
Identify internal and external stakeholder requirements, manage expectations, and ensure network readiness for new product/service launch.
Leads network integration with external entities to ensure a successful implementation.
Participates in any emergency response team in response to various security incidents such as denial of service attacks, malware infestations and internal fraud attempts.
Automate repetitive processes and co-build the foundation to facilitate automated and hitless firmware updates across network elements including routers, switches, load-balancers, dns, etc.
To co-build and enhance the network monitoring capability: capacity, response, jitter and service degradation.
To maintain an accurate record reflecting the current and historical network settings including the decision-making rationale for said configuration.
To inculcate the best practices, operational discipline and guidelines across the network team.
To participate in yearly audit exercises and ensure requirements are always adhered to. Ensure network compliance with relevant audit and regulations and maintain network security measures.
To participate in other working groups of small projects undertaken by the division on issues with regards to Network Administration.

Keep abreast on emerging network technologies which may be appropriate for adoption which would supplement organizational agility and provide the foundation to execute organization goals in an expedited manner.
This role would require engineer to be on-call standby at least one week in a month. Able to handle high severity incident calls after office hours and during weekends/holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications & Professional Certification(Where relevant)
Degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a high-pressured System Integrator or Telco environment.
CCNP or higher certification
Industry certifications like CDCP, VMWare, Redhat would be an added advantage.
Working Experience
Experience in the IT banking, Data Center and Banking sector would be an added advantage.
Other Additional requirements(where relevant)
Well versed across the Cisco R&S and DC hardware portfolio: Catalyst, Nexus 9K, ISR and ASR with valid implementation experience with: OSPF, BGP, BFD, IP-SLA, DNS, DHCP, Load-Balancing, IPSEC, VXLAN.
Experience and knowledgeable in Cisco ACI will be an added advantage.
Experienced and knowledgeable in Linux, software load-balancers (HA-Proxy) and DNS architecture.
Well versed knowledge for integrating Cloud, 3rd party SaaS provider and security elements: AWS, CloudFlare, FWs, IPS, WAF, Load-Balancers.
Experienced and knowledgeable in foundational aspects of network automation (Gitlab, Python, Terraform).
Knowledge of Data Center operations will be an added advantage.
