Role Overview:The role of Senior Network Engineer is to support the IT operational activities of Project Infrastructure, supporting the Operation Manager to achieve the agreed SLAs as defined by the respective Master Service Agreement(s).
12hrs shift Work hours is 12hrs shift and teamwork with Malaysia and SG team closely.
Able to rotate on 24x7 Standby on a shift basis.
Manage the shift and handover to next shift for pending tasks.
Perform regular monitoring and maintenance of the network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Comply to ITSM/ITIL methodologies in daily operation e.g. Change, Incident, Service Request & problem management.
Troubleshoot network issues reported by users, identify the root cause, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
Collaborate with network administrators and engineers to design and implement network upgrades, expansions, and changes, ensuring minimal disruption to network services.
Maintain network documentation, including network diagrams configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network equipment procurement, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Keep up-to-date with emerging networking technologies, trends, and best practices to recommend and implement network enhancements.
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT teams regarding network-related issues, troubleshooting steps, and preventive measures.
Monitor & measure the performance & availability of systems proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & service level availability.
Support service continuity measures i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan.
Configures, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services.
Make an Impact by:Take accountable for the quality, timely & customer satisfaction of the project/Network operation service delivery objectives.
Ensure the Network Operation and Project service delivery aligned with Singtel ITSM standards.
Align or enhance ITSM/ITIL methodologies in daily operations e.g. Change, Incident, problem, release management & CMDB.
Support all Cisco Network devices and Checkpoint & Fortigate Firewalls, F5/Foundary/Radware load balancers, DNS, SDN, IPAM, Wireless, Tacacs and VPN.
Support operation activities:
Service Desk; Event, Incident, Request Fulfilment, Problem, and Access Management.
Performance Monitoring; Change, Release, Deployment, Demand and Workload Implementation.
Maintaining Availability (based on Service Design) and Knowledge Repositories.
Testing and Executing System and Service Recovery Plans based on DRP or BCP.
Identifies necessary network changes, validates proposed changes through testing, develops/submits a detailed work plan.
Monitor ASOC and Infosec emails closely and acknowledge and do assessment, if support needed escalate it to next level.
Attend all proactive/reactive incident tickets acknowledgement and work on it.
Mentor team members on technical issues & manage the shift as lead.
Implementing and administrating network devices such as Switches, Routers, Firewalls, LB, Wireless Controllers, and Wireless Access Points.
Implementing and administrating network routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP & network Security.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks include Diagram and SOP.
Regular configuration backup of all network devices, Ensure all devices are onboarded into Tacacs.
Work with Hardware vendor closely for the root cause, follow up and replacement of hardware parts promptly.
Monitor & measure the performance & availability of systems proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & service level availability.
Communicate with vendors to gather information about products, alert them to future needs, resolve problems, or address system maintenance issues.
Respond promptly to Network incident, root cause analysis & provide temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated.
Implement information security principles when creating and designing information systems in order to keep all classified and sensitive information secure.
Responsible for environment maintenance, patches and security updates. Work with security and risk analysis team to maintain up to date environment.
Recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probes.
Provide support to VPN users & old unused firewall clean up.
Encourages and drives the team through self-development initiatives; mentoring engineers / staff.
Involves in operational concerns for architectural decisions at technical competency level.
Provide project support for BAU projects & enhancement Network.
Participate in network technology upgrade or expansion projects and testing as well.
Skills for Success:A Degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in Managing IT Service Delivery.
Minimum 5 years of experience.
Prior experience in a technical role.
Strong technical competency with recognized professional certifications in either Network & Security or Systems domain.
Strong investigative, problem-solving skills - ability to identify problems and provide solutions in Router, Switches, Firewall, Load Balancer, VPN, Wireless, DNS, Tacacs & IPAM.
