Responsibilities:Manage and maintain a comprehensive and trackable inventory of formers deployed to the production line to utilize formers to their optimum lifespan.
Manage change and replacement of formers (e.g.
defective former, change of glove size) at the production line.
Manage and monitor movement of formers between the former store and production line to enable reconciliation of former stock.
Monthly Production Planning:
Obtain information from the Planning Team and/or Factory Manager to plan production activities around preventive maintenance, planned product change, former ratio change, and any activity that will cause the line to be down.
Daily Production Planning:
Review the production report to compare production output (quantity) vs. quality (Defects Per Million (DPM)).
Manage allocation/prioritization of manpower for production (ground floor & top floor) for operators and supervisors.
Coordinate production requirements with Compounding (e.g.
quantity, type, time, line), Quality Assurance (QA) (e.g.
buyoff required, timing), Laboratory (e.g.
incoming and outgoing test), and Plant Engineering and Maintenance (PEM) activities planned for the day.
Monitor daily production output, former ratio, machine uptime, and line speed, comparing actual against expected (target) quantity.
Control Process Control Parameters according to specifications and continue to monitor trends from the Control (SCADA) Room to take preventive action to avoid failure.
Raw Material & Utilities:
Review and ensure there is sufficient raw material (Latex, Coagulant, Cleaning chemicals) for production for the entire day.
Plan for any line stop activity for raw material required and/or transfer raw material to other production lines and/or storage.
Devise a contingency plan and engage with Plant facilities for any foreseeable utilities disruption (e.g.
electricity, gas, and water).
Glove Quality Management:
Liaise with the Quality Assurance team to get timely production lot test results.
Monitor daily Defects Per Million (DPM) and Average Quality Level (AQL) of glove production to produce the highest percentage of Grade A gloves.
Review samples of gloves, troubleshoot, and determine the root cause of issues based on detected defects (Physical quality, Dimension, Visual, and Barrier defects).
Make timely decisions to bypass or stop the production line to minimize online scrap based on real-time production information.
Determine the root cause of defects and take decisive actions to rectify the issues.
Sorting Activities:
Monitor sorting output and defects (from stripping and layering) prior to sending gloves for QA buyoff.
Arrange for gloves utilized by the QA team for the Watertight Test (WTT) to be dried, sorted (by size), layered (stacked) to be scrapped or sold as lower grade.
Preventive Maintenance & Modification:
Report and raise issues experienced to PEM immediately to arrange for timely repairs.
Plan with PEM for any preventive maintenance to arrange for bypass, line startup, and shutdown.
Inspect lines that have undergone preventive maintenance to ensure they are in good working order before putting them back into service.
Audits & Customer Visits:
Plan for customer and auditor visits to the Plant in accordance with the scope to be reviewed or audit scope.
Prepare paperwork (e.g.
evidence, report) for audit scope, ensuring Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are updated and current.
Ensure processes comply with Quality, Safety and Health, Social Compliance, and that production actions do not compromise wastewater (environmental) standards.
Customer Complaints:
Investigate and close out customer complaints received with the QA department.
Safety, Standards and Compliance:
Cultivate and enforce safe working practices to ensure workforce safety, compliance with safety standards, and drive toward zero lost time injuries.
Periodically inspect and ensure that the workplace is kept clean and equipment is maintained to expected/defined standards.
Develop Human Capital:
Mentor inexperienced team members to develop skills for a comprehensive understanding of production operational requirements.
Monitor workforce compliance with prevailing policies and guidelines, such as work hours, overtime, working conditions, fair treatment, and wellbeing.
Others:
Any other tasks and/or assigned duties as required by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:Qualification:
1.
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
1.
Minimum 10 years of hands-on working experience in a related field and a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
2.
Experience in the manufacturing field with ISO compliance and regulatory environment; knowledge and experience in social compliance will be appreciated.
3.
Experience in smooth and optimum production operations is an added advantage.
Other Personal Capabilities:
