Our client is an established F&B chain with cafes and restaurants in prime urban locations and shopping malls in Malaysia and internationally.
They are currently looking for the right candidate to fill the following position.
SENIOR PURCHASING EXECUTIVE
(based Petaling Jaya, Selangor)
Responsibilities
Process the purchase orders by liaising with suppliers or principals.
Review stock purchase by monitoring market conditions, current stock levels, lead time required for manufacturing, potential price increase, and anticipation of new orders from customers.
Ensure all purchases are approved within the company guidelines.
Avoid overstocking by working with the product manager and warehouse manager on slow-moving inventory.
Track annual purchasing commitments to principals.
Assist in sourcing locally and overseas for new goods not supplied by regular principals/suppliers.
Arrange air and sea freight and liaise with forwarders on services and costs.
Manage local and overseas purchase enquiries.
Ensure insurance declaration is done for purchases.
Cost the goods purchased by incorporating freight and ensure that all costs incurred in the operating department are kept within control.
Organize the purchasing team to ensure even workload, coverage of duties, and training.
Review processes regularly to streamline, improve throughput, and reduce paperwork and rework.
Ensure seamless integration with logistics/warehouse and production department.
Monitor price fluctuation and communicate with suppliers on changes if necessary.
Address and update vendors on specific requirements and the company objective to ensure long-term benefits.
Work with vendors to ensure products are delivered just-in-time.
Study the production lines, equipped with extensive knowledge on the products.
Find alternative suppliers and constantly seek out new products to add value through cost reduction.
Requirements
Possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Purchasing/Procurement/Supply Chain or equivalent.
2-3 years working experience specifically in purchasing and negotiation.
Proficiency with computers, specifically ERP systems, is essential.
Mandarin or Cantonese speaking is required, particularly for negotiations, ordering, and vendor communications.
Strong communication skills are a must.Summary of role requirements:
