Senior Purchasing Executive (Petaling Jaya)

Our client is an establishedF&B chain with cafes and restaurants in prime urban locations and shoppingmalls in Malaysia and internationally. They are currently looking for the rightcandidate to fill the following position.
SENIORPURCHASING EXECUTIVE
(based Petaling Jaya,Selangor)
Responsibilities
Process the purchaseorders by liaising with suppliers or principals
Review stock purchase bymonitoring market conditions, current stock levels, lead time required formanufacturing, potential price increase, anticipation of new ordersfrom customers, suppliersconditions
Ensure all purchase areapproved within the company guidelines
Avoid overstocking byworking with product manager and warehouse manager on slow moving inventory
Track annual purchasingcommitments to principals
Assist in the sourcinglocally and overseas for new goods not supplied by regular principals/suppliers
Arrange air and seafreight and liaise with forwarders on services and costs
Manage the local andoverseas purchase enquiries
Ensure insurancedeclaration is done for purchases
Cost the goods purchasedby incorporating freight and ensure that all costs incurred in operating deptare kept within control
Organize the purchasingteam to ensure even workload, coverage of duties and training
Review regularly processesto streamline, improve throughput and reduce paper work and rework
Ensure seamlessintegration with logistics/warehouse and production department.
To monitor pricefluctuation and communicating with supplier on the changes if necessarily.
To address and updatevendors on the specific requirement and the company objective in order toensure long term benefits.
Work with vendor to ensureproducts are delivered just-in-time.
Study the productionlines, equip with extensive knowledge on the products.
Required to find analternative supplier, and constantly seek out new products in order to addvalue through cost reduction
Requirements
Possess at least aProfessional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor'sDegree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, in Purchasing/ Procurement/Supply Chain or equivalent
Should have 4-5 years ofworking experience, with 2-3 years specifically in purchasing and negotiation.
Proficiency withcomputers, specifically ERP systems, is essential.
Mandarin or Cantonesespeaker is required, particularly for negotiations, ordering, and vendorcommunications.
