Senior R&D Executive

JOB DESCRIPTION:Responsible to lead, coordinate, and execute product development projects as well as providing technical research and support to the marketing, operations and trading teamJOB FUNCTIONS:Lead R&D team. Plan, manage, and complete projects to design, develop, and optimize new products with necessary shelf life and sensory characteristics in within designated time frame.
Research of functional ingredients to implement designated new products.
Formulate new products utilizing internal bench top prototypes and pilot plant trials.
Coordinate and facilitate plant trials and new product start ups with, production/operation, and co-packers.
Manage and oversee department functions (e.g., sensory program, shelf life testing, label legal claims, product specifications, product/packaging improvements, nutritional labeling).
Develop, enhance, and implement procedures to support these functions.
Primary objective is to work in tandem with marketing and or clients and to close any conceptual gap and to promote future products.
Support company certification & supplier / internal audit activity.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Food Science or equivalent degree with minimum 3-5 years experience in Research & Development role.
Demonstrated excellence in communications, leading, and motivating others across a range of disciplines.
Strong working knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality assurance principles, ingredient supply market, and market research practices.
Understand food science applications, sensory principles, nutritional programs, labeling, & package design.
