Job DescriptionThis position reports to the COE Revenue Accounting Manager. This individual will be responsible for calculation and analysis of certain key return reserves, manage proper revenue cut-off and other revenue accounting responsibilities across Western Digital subsidiaries. The successful candidate will utilize excellent spreadsheet and analytical skills to prioritize workload and provide quality work under strict deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage proper revenue cut-off by performing incoterm test at quarter end
Calculate and analyze quarterly product return reserve requirements for all Western Digital subsidiaries, and prepare journal entries to record reserve adjustments as appropriate
Determine revenue deferrals associated with firmware and software upgrade commitments on current product shipments, and record in ERP system
Manage reconciliation of revenue related GL accounts
Serve as point of contact with internal and external audit team for quarterly revenue testing activities and assist with Sox testing as needed
Assist with other Revenue projects or activities as needed
QualificationsRequired :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with minimum 6 years of experience in accounting and revenue roles in high tech or similar industries
Experience with revenue transactions with distributor and OEM customers within the semiconductor industry a plus
Advanced Excel skills and analytics aptitude required
Preferred :
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English is a must
Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people as a team member.
Strong ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems, as well to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Superior analytical skills and a high level of attention to details.
Skills :
Proficient in Business Intelligence preferred; experience in Oracle Cloud environments a plus
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition fundamentals
