Job DescriptionLead the shipping operations team managing all aspects of outbound shipment and logistics coordination. Ensure that all shipping orders are completed and shipping is made on-time to satisfy customer requirements. Maintain all paperwork and documentation on a daily basis for all shipping and receiving, and ensure posting of all activities into SAP.
Responsibilities:
Oversee delivery and compliance of outbound activities relating to logistics, freight, and packaging carried out by service providers. Lead quarterly business reviews, monitor KPIs, and ensure services are delivered as per contract.
Work with factory stakeholders to ensure timely preparation of delivery notes, packing lists, customs invoices, and picking lists for outbound deliveries and coordinate collection with regional sales teams.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, escalating where necessary or appropriate, to remove roadblocks preventing shipment of finished goods.
Coordinate with freight forwarders to ensure booking confirmations are made on time and serve as the main point of contact for support with shipment obstacles.
Monitor and ensure that AELB permits are applied for and received for X-ray machines before shipment out of SDM.
Implement efficient warehousing and storage practices to minimize damage, loss, and spoilage of finished goods.
Accountable for cycle counting activities and inventory accuracy in finished goods storage locations.
Oversee coordination with the 3PL warehouse team to ensure effective transfer and consolidation of accessories with finished goods shipments.
Work closely with local and regional logistics & trade compliance stakeholders to ensure outbound compliance.
Maintain all paperwork and documentation on a daily basis for all shipping and receiving and ensure posting of all activities into SAP.
Collaborate with the factory planning team to provide workload forecasts to packaging subcontractors.
Responsible for tendering, award, and invoice validation of outbound freight shipments.
Comply with and ensure department compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Drive improvement by promoting best practices and process excellence in the SDM shipping department.
Perform other duties as required.
QualificationsEducation:
Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant professional certifications.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, shipping, or operations environment; experience in shipping would be advantageous.
Experience working with senior stakeholders in an international logistics environment.
Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent organizational skills ensuring processes are adhered to.
Strong knowledge of import and export compliance regulations in Malaysia.
Strong understanding of Incoterms.
Good working knowledge of SAP.
Experience in delivering excellent customer service.
Physical / Mental Requirements:
Quick thinking and ability to adapt decision-making to dynamic situations.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Accountability and follow-through on commitments.
