Senior Solutions Design Engineer / Assistant Manager
Responsibilities:
Anticipate and understand customer needs, incorporating these insights into sustainable solution designs.
Develop comprehensive solution designs, including scope of services, operating model, resource allocation, cost estimates, recommended selling price, estimated client value, and draft P&L for DSV.
Calculate warehouse sizing based on throughput and product data typically provided in customer RFQs.
Design process flows for key warehouse activities—such as receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch—to maximize productivity.
Establish productivity targets for activities to support resource and activity-based costing models.
Build simulation models for warehouse throughput using industry-leading software to visualize operations, throughput, and alternative scenarios.
Design warehouse layouts and engineering plans using AutoCAD or equivalent software.
Gather essential data and assumptions needed for solution design, costing, and pricing for the customer, ensuring all relevant customer insights are captured for current and potential future opportunities.
Collaborate closely with the Business Development and Operations teams to gather data, customer requirements, and operational configurations.
Offer technical expertise in engineering and commercial aspects aligned with warehouse and transportation business needs and customer requirements.
Coordinate with Project Management and Operational teams to ensure project implementation aligns with agreed timelines, budgets, and operational requirements.
Track projects post-implementation to ensure alignment between the cost model and actual operations.
Perform project feasibility studies comparing pre-implementation proposals with post-implementation/go-live results.
Who are we looking for:
Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
A few years of relevant experience in Solution Design, Operations, or Operations Excellence roles within the logistics industry is preferred.
Experience in Solution Design for verticals such as fashion and lifestyle, retail, e-commerce, and technology are an advantage.
Proficient in creating warehouse layouts and simulation models using industry-leading software such as AutoCAD, CLASS and SketchUp.
Skilled warehouse solution engineer with a strong understanding of how process changes impact productivity and financial outcomes.
Experience in warehouse or logistics operations, including hands-on implementation, is beneficial.
Strong intercultural communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across cultures and countries.
Strong analytical, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in both spoken and written English.
Skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Having skills in 3D layout design is an added advantage.
Open to working at Bukit Jelutong, Selangor.
Willing to travel both locally and internationally.
Capable of working under tight deadlines.
