Job Description:
The Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
This position involves the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of medical conditions, including trauma, critical illnesses, and emergencies.
Responsibilities:
Perform rapid and accurate assessments of patients' physical and psychological conditions.
Prioritize care based on acuity and urgency.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
Use clinical judgment to identify life-threatening conditions and take immediate action.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, paramedics, and other nurses.
Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and care coordination.
Assist with resuscitation, stabilization, and other emergency interventions.
Operate and maintain medical equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, and monitors.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and families during high-stress situations.
Advocate for patient needs and rights.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) license in Malaysia
Post Basic with Emergency Care or related is preferable
Proven experience as a Staff Nurse with more than 2 years experience
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical procedures and protocols
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients
