Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Senior Supplier Quality Engineer in the South East Asia and China Region to join our core Supply Chain Team. You will have total ownership of supplier quality through the entire product lifecycle, from initial sourcing through development, tooling, and industrialization as well as product launch and ongoing business management.
\n What you'll be doing:Collaborate with the Development Engineering team to establish new product and process control standards for mechanical, optical, and electrical components, and assembliesDevelop robust control plans with Aeva's manufacturing partners to ensure highest product quality with zero defectsCoordinate and oversee supplier quality plan implementation at all program phasesImplement APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes with suppliers from the initial design stage through PPAP submission and the start of mass productionConduct product and process audits, site inspections, monitor supplier quality performance, and drive root cause analysis for supplier quality issuesSupport new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standardsReview supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunitiesEvaluate impacts of non-conforming products and assess suppliers' corrective action robustness in order to ensure effective permanent solutionsInvestigate supplier quality issues to determine root cause and implement corrective and preventative actionsEstablish inspection plans, design new test methodologies, and qualify precision inspection tools and gaugesIdentify and lead improvement initiatives to optimize key process indicatorsHelp select suitable suppliers with the right commercial and technical capabilities to meet Aeva's quality expectations and project timelinesPromote and champion a culture of quality and continual improvement to build a world-class Supply Chain Organization What you'll have:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline7+ years of work experience in a Manufacturing Operations or Quality roleFluent in English and Mandarin is requiredAdvanced knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes and inspection methodologies including Optical and mechanical componentsProficient in applying AIAG core tools including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Statistical Process Control (SPC)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to define complex problem statements, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actionsExcellent communication skills and team player with strong interpersonal skillsExperienced in selecting and developing new suppliers and performing process audits to accepted industry standards, i.e., ISO-9001:2015, IATF-16949:2016, and VDA 6.3A self-starter, who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment Ability and willingness to frequent international travel within Asia and China (approximately 30% of the time)Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Nice to haves:Certified ISO-9001:2015, IATF-16949:2016, or VDA 6.3 AuditorCertified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black BeltWorking experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus What's in it for you:Be part of an early start-up that's backed by industry-leading venture capitalistsVery competitive compensation!
