Senior Supply Chain Engineer (China & South East Asia)This role is based at our office in Kuala Lumpur, reporting directly to Global Purchasing Director and Engineering Manager. You are required to work under the Oliver Companies as a group, carrying out work for Oliver Valves, Oliver Valvetek, Oliver Twinsafe Valves and/or Oliver Hydcovalves.
You will develop a sound understanding of the wide range of Oliver products through all stages of valve manufacture, from concept, through component manufacture to final assembly and testing.
ResponsibilitiesYour day to day responsibilities will be:
Identify, Audit and develop new suppliers and clearly define their manufacturing capabilities.
Manage and develop new and existing suppliers to ensure quality, cost and on time delivery performance are in line with pre-defined KPIs
Support UK with India supplier negotiations during the Customer bid process
Support UK and India with supplier negotiations prior to order placement
Review specifications and machining drawings in order to support the supplier selection process.
Manage the expediting function for all supplier purchase orders to ensure deliveries are completed in line with quoted lead times and purchase order due dates.
In conjunction with UK and India Quality produce inspection and test plans for both raw material manufacture and critical manufacturing processes and clearly define witness inspection hold points.
Manage and partake in witness inspection activities during the manufacture of raw materials including forgings, forged bars and rolled bars
Manage and partake in witness inspection activities during the final inspection of machined components
Working with the engineering team review, assess and resolve supplier concession requests
Co-ordinate shipping of goods from suppliers to Oliver UK and India assembly facilities
QualificationsMinimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
Must be able to read and speak fluently in Mandarin.
Must be able to read and speak fluently in English.
Must have relevant experience in manufacturing and quality inspection processes, particularly of machined components.
Must have basic knowledge and work experience in NDE inspection and quality inspection (eg. Visual inspection, dimensional inspection, corrosion, impact & hardness testing), reviewing quality documents and witnessing quality inspections.
Must have relevant work experience in managing and communicating with suppliers in China.
Minimum 5 to 10 years of working experienced.
Must be willing to travel for work within China or South East Asia.
