The Senior System Engineer plays a critical role in designing and managing the organization's IT systems, networks, and infrastructure. This individual provides technical expertise, leads large-scale projects, and ensures the security, reliability, and efficiency of all systems. The Senior System Engineer works closely with stakeholders to design solutions that meet business needs, troubleshooting complex issues, and providing mentorship to junior engineers.
Main AccountabilitiesSystem Design and Implementation:Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, leading large-scale projects and evaluating hardware and software.
System Administration and Support:Monitor system performance, administer servers, troubleshoot issues, and manage disaster recovery.
Security and Compliance:Implement security measures, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:Ensure optimal system performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement automation tools.
Collaboration and Team Leadership:Mentor staff, collaborate with departments, and contribute to strategic IT decisions.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:Manage vendor relationships, ensure timely procurement, and communicate technical requirements to stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting:Maintain detailed documentation and generate reports on system performance, security, and projects.
Project Management:Lead system upgrades and migrations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while managing risks.
RequirementsBachelor's degree:in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience:in system engineering, IT infrastructure, or related areas.
Expertise in system administration:including Windows/Linux servers, network management, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies:(e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with scripting languages:(e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and automation tools.
Solid understanding of network protocols:security principles, and disaster recovery solutions.
Preferred Skills:Relevant certifications:such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Experience with DevOps practices:CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills:with the ability to solve complex technical issues.
Experience with storage solutions:(SAN/NAS), database management, and backup systems.
Working Conditions:Full-time position.
