Opportunity to be part of Micron's inaugural tax Center of Excellence ("COE") supporting Micron's global tax teams throughout the world from our Malaysia office.
In addition to global support, this role also includes ownership of Malaysian tax operations and reporting.
Our COE initiatives include establishing best in class approaches to process improvements, standardization, and opportunities to engage in global tax planning initiatives.
We are looking for individuals that are broad minded creative problem solvers that can adapt to changes and partner with various businesses within Micron.
Regional Tax Responsibilities:
Prepare regional corporate taxes and indirect taxes.
Prepare quarterly tax provisions, tax estimates, deferred taxation, and tax packages as needed.
Support transfer pricing requirements as needed.
Coordinate with local finance teams and external advisors on significant tax matters.
Support fixed assets tax depreciation.
Advise and review WHT and SST filings and processes.
Support tax planning initiatives such as tax incentives and credits.
Support various regional tax projects as needed.
Maintain professional relationships with external advisors, auditors, and local tax authorities.
Act as a liaison for internal and external parties (external tax agents and auditors) on the preparation of tax computations and tax estimates.
Support regional-based tax accounting groups and country leads with APAC tax accounting and reporting.
Work closely with business units to understand the business and function as a trusted business advisor regarding tax matters.
Global Responsibilities:
Support outsourced compliance functions for designated entities, including direct or indirect taxes.
Collaborate with the US-based tax team to assist with the preparation of US federal returns, US international tax forms, and state tax returns (e.g., 1120, 5471, 8858, 8975, etc.).
Collaborate with the US tax team to help with fixed assets depreciation and reporting.
Support Pillar 2 GMT calculation, delivering compliance and reporting.
Support US R&D tax credit claims.
Collaborate with the global tax team to improve processes by developing or implementing best practices from a tax perspective (standardization and automation of processes).
Collaborate with accounting on various tax needs and projects.
Support various global tax projects as needed.
Support tax-related audits.
Support the global tax team's billing.
Requirements:
Accounting with a professional qualification is an added advantage (MIA/ACCA/CPA, etc.).
5 to 7 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm and in commercial covering both direct and indirect taxes.
Familiarity with USGAAP accounting and SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
Experience with a variety of taxing jurisdictions and affiliated income tax filing requirements.
Highly meticulous and detail-oriented, with the ability to handle extensive data analysis.
Well-versed in accounting standards (MFRS, IFRS) and policies.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in tax laws in various jurisdictions.
Good knowledge of indirect taxes and withholding tax laws to provide tax advice.
Proficiency in Excel is essential.
Experience working with a global tax team with US headquarters.
Strong communication skills, proficient in English speaking and writing.
Knowledge of Mandarin or Japanese language is an added advantage.#J-18808-Ljbffr
