Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and skilledIn-House Senior Traderto join ourInvestment Operations Team . This role will focus on trading listed company shares on Bursa Malaysia, executing trades, managing positions, and contributing to the overall portfolio strategy. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Bursa-listed stocks, market trends, and trading strategies, with a focus on delivering strong performance while adhering to risk management, compliance, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Equity Trading on Bursa Malaysia:
Execute buy and sell orders for listed company shares on Bursa Malaysia, adhering to the firm's investment strategies and portfolio goals.
Monitor market trends and make informed, timely decisions to capitalize on opportunities in the Malaysian equities market.
Ensure efficient execution of trades, optimizing portfolio returns while minimizing transaction costs.
Market Research and Analysis:
Conduct detailed research on Bursa-listed companies, including financial analysis, sector trends, and macroeconomic factors impacting stock prices.
Use technical and fundamental analysis to inform trading decisions and identify emerging opportunities.
Stay updated with financial news, corporate earnings reports, and market events that could affect market sentiment or share prices.
Portfolio Management and Strategy:
Collaborate with portfolio managers to align trading activity with the firm's overall investment strategy.
Contribute to portfolio optimization through informed stock selections and strategic positioning.
Recommend adjustments to stock holdings based on market conditions and investment objectives.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Monitor the risk exposure of trades and ensure that positions remain within the firm's risk parameters.
Apply risk management strategies to mitigate potential losses and protect the firm's assets.
Ensure compliance with Securities Commission (SC), Bursa Malaysia regulations, and internal risk guidelines.
Trade Execution and Operations:
Accurately execute trades with minimal delays, ensuring timely and efficient processing of orders.
Maintain detailed records of trades, positions, and performance to support post-trade analysis and reporting.
Coordinate with the operations team to ensure proper settlement and reconciliation of trades.
Performance Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on trading activity, portfolio performance, and market insights.
Contribute to the reporting process by ensuring accurate data entry and analysis of trading performance.
Highlight key developments, potential risks, and opportunities for the investment team and senior management.
Collaboration with Investment Operations Team:
Work closely with other members of the investment operations team, portfolio managers, analysts, and compliance officers to ensure smooth execution of trades and compliance with operational standards.
Participate in team meetings and discussions to share insights, updates on trading positions, and market developments.
Communicate effectively with senior management regarding trading decisions, strategies, and performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (CFA, FRM, or equivalent professional certifications are a plus).
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in equity trading, specifically with Bursa Malaysia-listed companies.
Deep knowledge of the Bursa Malaysia stock market, including listed companies, market dynamics, and trading regulations.
Strong understanding of trading platforms, technical and fundamental analysis, and trading strategies.
Familiarity with Securities Commission (SC) and Bursa Malaysia regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to act swiftly in fast-paced market conditions.
Proficiency in trading software, financial modeling, and data analysis tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters).
Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to risk management.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Preferred Skills:
CFA, FRM, or other relevant certifications.
Proven experience with trading equities, particularly on Bursa Malaysia or other Southeast Asian stock exchanges.
Experience in implementing or managing algorithmic trading strategies.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
