Purpose
Responsible for facilitating students' learning through lectures, tutorials, and seminars at the undergraduate level.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate students' learning through lectures, tutorials, and seminars at the undergraduate level in Real Estate Finance and Investment and Real Estate Valuation.
Produce high-quality teaching and learning material to support and develop student learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Contribute to the writing of programme validation documents as required.
Exercise academic leadership, coordinating the efforts of colleagues to deliver module and programme objectives.
Enhance the quality of taught and research programmes at the undergraduate level.
Make independent decisions on the content of individual learning activities in the context of teaching duties.
Co-ordinate the work of modules to ensure delivery to required standards and identify and respond to students' needs.
Act upon peer observation feedback, student feedback, and external examiner feedback to maintain high quality in learning and teaching.
Supervision Received
The post holder will report to the Head of Henley Business School.
In the event that the tasks involve specific programme requirements, the post holder will receive guidance from the specific programme lead.
Contact
The post holder will have frequent contact with staff in Malaysia and the UK as well as students, applicants, and visitors.
Terms and Conditions
This post is sessional/part-time and based in Malaysia, commencing in January/February 2025 for Semester 2, 2024/25.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
CRITERIA
ATTAINMENT
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate or Finance
Doctorate/Master's degree in Real Estate or Finance
Teaching qualification and industry experience in the real estate industry and/or teaching real estate subjects
KNOWLEDGE
Suitable expertise to deliver lectures in real estate
Advanced level of subject knowledge and being an externally regarded lecturer or scholar
Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Relevant teaching experience in higher education
DISPOSITION
An ability to keep abreast of developments in teaching and scholarship specific to the subject area
An ability to support students both academically and pastorally
An ability to lead and/or work as part of a team
Organisational and administrative skills
Good presentation and IT skills
An awareness of diversity and inclusion within the workplace and in an educational context
