Settlements Officer (Stockbroking Industry)
We are looking for a Settlements Officer to join our team in the stockbroking industry.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data through thorough daily settlement reconciliations and compliance with ASX and CHESS Business Rules.Key Responsibilities:Conduct thorough daily settlement reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data, focusing on stock and funds reconciliation.Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies, utilizing analytical skills to spot cash flow trends and proactively prevent discrepancies.Match and compare data to identify any discrepancies.Maintain comprehensive records of reconciliation processes and outcomes.Propose improvements to processes related to settlement reconciliation.Communicate findings effectively to management, ensuring transparency on reconciliation status.Leverage advanced Excel functions to streamline reconciliation workflows.Settlements:Responsible for settlements functions including compliance with ASX and CHESS Business Rules.Ensure clients' trades are transacted correctly and on time, with all stocks registered promptly.Process all corporate actions accurately and timely, ensuring client protection.Maintain accurate client portfolio records, ensuring reconciliation with CHESS holding records.Liaise with other brokers and their settlements departments.Liaise with CHESS.Finance:Assist with processing funds withdrawals via funds transfer and payment batches of share sales proceeds to clients.Process collection batches of funds from clients to settle trades.Ensure compliance with ASX Business Rules, CHESS, and the Corporations Act.Required Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, and financial data analysis and reporting.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses.Effective time management skills to prioritize and manage workload.Strong reconciliation skills to ensure proper checks and balances.Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in work output and correspondence.Ability to work unsupervised, exercising judgment when assistance is required.Excellent communication skills in English.Qualifications and Experience:Previous working experience in a similar environment, preferably in the banking/financial services industry with a strong preference for stockbroking operations experience.A degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field is preferred.Working Hours:Staggered shifts following Sydney time (Mon-Fri).Earliest shift: 5am - 2pm MYT.Latest shift: 9am - 6pm MYT.The ability to work during Malaysia public holidays is required, with compensation of additional off-days for working on these days.We are currently 100% working from the office and value engaging with our team!Company Overview:
