Summary:
The SharePoint Online Product Owner will be responsible for the planning, development, and management of our SharePoint Online environment, including the Teams & One-drive underlying storage. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, defining product vision/roadmap, and ensuring the successful implementation and adoption of SharePoint Online solutions, with a strong emphasis on document security and data protection.
Key Responsibilities
Product Vision and Strategy
Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for SharePoint Online.
Align product goals with business objectives and user needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and end-users to gather requirements and feedback.
Prioritize features and enhancements based on stakeholder input and business value.
Product Development
Create and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is well-defined and prioritized.
Collaborate with the squad and potentially other development teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features.
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of SharePoint Online solutions.
Initiate and/or drive problem solving within and beyond your scope of responsibility.
Manage and streamline the communication with your users throughout the entire cycle from inception, requirements gathering,…. till post go-live support, and incident and problem management.
User Experience and Adoption
Advocate user-centric design and ensure a positive user experience.
Develop and execute strategies to drive user adoption and engagement.
Ensure training and support are provided to end-users as needed.
Performance Monitoring and Improvement
Monitor the performance and usage of SharePoint Online solutions.
Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance functionality and user satisfaction.
Compliance and Security
Ensure SharePoint Online solutions comply with organizational policies and industry regulations.
Collaborate with security teams to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
Implement and manage document security measures, including data labelling and classification.
Utilize Azure Information Protection (AIP) to classify, label, and protect sensitive information.
Develop and enforce policies for data access, sharing, and storage to safeguard company information.
Budget
Manage and monitor your budget; inform management pro-actively on potential deviations from the budget.
Contribute to cost forecast and budget exercises.
Look for potential cost savings.
Experience
Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, with a focus on SharePoint Online.
Strong understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, features, and capabilities.
Experience in agile development methodologies.
Familiarity with Azure Information Protection and data labelling practices.
