Position Objectives:
The Section Quality Manager is responsible for SMT In Process Quality Control and Yield Improvement, Quality Audit, and PCBA quality to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations. In addition to managing the SMT quality system and maintaining the department product/process documentation, this person will also provide support on EWB, IPQC, ECN, and NPI team activities.
Job DescriptionResponsible for SMT product quality issues.
Act as the point of contact for internal/external customer quality/rejected matters.
Drive problem-solving for quality issues encountered in SMT operations or 0KM defects (SMT related), ensuring all activities related to the quality process are closed on time.
Manage resources, develop associates to be competent in their areas of responsibility, and drive process improvement activities.
Set realistic quality goals, ensure all key performance indicators meet departmental goals, and drive continuous improvement with the team.
Evaluate associate performance with goal setting aligned with departmental goals.
Plan for training needs analysis (TNA) for associates.
Lead quality audits and implement countermeasures.
Provide support to EWB, IPQC, ECN, and NPI teams.
Ensure all manufacturing documents are prepared and updated accordingly before line release for manufacturing (e.g., Process Control Plan, PFMEA, Instruction card, Work Instruction, etc.).
Maintain quality records properly.
Responsible for yield reporting, monitoring, and improvement.
Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
Qualifications5-10 years of experience in Quality and SMT processes.
Strong analytical skills to drive internal MOE1 team members in resolving quality issues, handling internal/external customer complaints, managing audits, addressing supplier issues with PQA, driving yield improvement, and reducing internal defect costs (IDC).
Strong leadership skills, as engineers and technicians will report to this position.
Good communication skills are mandatory for frequent meetings with the Managing Director (currently once a month to present monthly IDC KPI), global ME team, and CoC team.
Ability to collaborate with all managers, especially MOE1 managers, to strategize the department's improvement path.
