We are looking for a proactiveBuyer (Purchasing Specialist)for our newly established heavy machinery assembly factory in Seremban - Sendayan Techvalley for the underground load & haul equipment.
About the Division
The Load & Haul Division is home to Sandvik loaders and trucks for the underground mining business.

We have been the market leader by accelerating diesel and battery-electric equipment development, with sharpened priorities.
We work in close co-operation with the sales areas within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Business Area to provide the best possible service to our customers.
Load & Haul's home base is located in Turku, Finland.
Additionally, we have operations in Camarillo, USA, Changzhou, China, and Seremban, Malaysia.
Do we share the same goals?
In this position, you are primarily responsible for ensuring purchasing activity for operational buying and close co-operation with selected/approved suppliers for the Seremban factory, as well as communicating with cross-functional team members, Supervisors, and Managers while maintaining on-time deliveries and compliance with EHS policies.
Day-to-day operational buying process and monitor supplier performance (purchase order release, confirmation, fulfilment, and administration)
ERP parameter maintenance within given framework
Resolve inbound discrepancies (shipments, wrong/damaged parts, paperwork)
Support and work closely with supply chain improvement projects
Manage and improve relationships with suppliers
Proactively engage with suppliers to plan and implement initiatives that deliver improved availability and minimize inventory risk (forecasting, buffer stock agreements)
Manage inventories and maintain accurate records
Monitor and enforce the company's purchasing policies & procedures
Ensure that the products and supplies are of high quality
Generate suppliers forecasts and coordinate general purchasing activities for Sandvik contract manufacturing suppliers
Coordinate purchasing activities with Manufacturing, Planning, and Engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner
Performance report on purchases made and perform cost analyses
Ensure PO accuracy, follow up on issues related to purchase orders (PO)
Expedite order status for generated POs
Release POs according to MRP
Participate in implementation and understand SAP Module S4/Hana and ARIBA system
Support the user-defined purchase request when needed
Adhere to occupational safety and general cleanliness
Ensure Sandvik Way of Working procedures are in place and always adhered to
Your background and what we find important
This role would be ideal for someone looking for a new challenge and further becoming an expert in purchasing, sourcing, supplier engagement, inventory control, and planning tasks, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
As a person, you have excellent communication and customer service skills, are able to follow instructions and deliver as required, and can work in a team as well as independently with minimum supervision.
You should fluently speak English and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related industry or equivalent, extensive experience with SAP S/4 Hana & Ariba system utilization related to procurement function, and be an expert in the regional supply base.
A suitable degree or education certificate from technical & vocational institutions is also required.
