Associate I, Accounting & Reporting manages the GL Accounting and Reporting processes, enabling the execution of quality services.
This role supports having systems, documentation, compliance and reporting in place.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Service DeliveryOperational oversight to provide services at expected levels with a clear customer focus, including handling the exceptions.
Resolve all escalated issues and disputes.Collaborates with key external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities / auditorsActively initiate and participate in system improvements to sustain a highly effective and efficient process, and realize cost reduction opportunities including areas to standardize processes to optimize investments made in global ERP/SAP systems and financial servicesSupport the measurement and delivery of service levels in line with defined SLA / KPI targetsProactively challenge the Status Quo, making fact based recommendationsManage day-to-day activities : GL AccountingResponsible for the key processes within GL management : Prepare manual journal entries, manage balance sheet account reconciliations process of all balance sheet accounts, ensure proper accounting of financial transactions, accounting specific questions are well addressed and solved (with escalations to Technical Accounting if required), actively review accounts, perform variance analysis and manage period-end closing and reporting in accordance with local laws and Alcon required standards.Payroll reconciliation to GL ledger, Forex revaluation, cost allocation run.Collaborating with key finance stakeholders, to gather, analyse, and interpret relevant financial information during month end.Month end closing – to prepare and completing the FCRS reporting.KPIs & AFCM reportsStakeholder management – organize monthly customer meeting, month end financial review call.Ad hoc assignmentMaster Data maintenance :Maintenance of General Ledger master dataSuper user for Account Reconciliation (Black line) and Closing calendar (Smart Close).Reporting/SystemsAct as month end closing coordinator ensure that figures reported are correct and ensure close collaboration with key stakeholders, support BPA and FRA in technical and appliance questions, ensure proper master data maintenance, supervise for master data maintenance and proactively challenge the Status Quo, making fact based recommendations while working closely with ERP Support .ComplianceEnsure compliance with Alcon Accounting Manual , Alcon's Financial Controls Manual (AFCM) and regulatory requirements and implementation in internal guidelines.Promote a strong and control environment and follow up on audit finding and implement correcting measures.People ManagementActively support BPA, FRA, C&R team working style by being inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven in alignment with Alcon Values and BehavioursAct service oriented to enable service lines to deliver a high-performing organization and drive improvement/standard solutions while cultivating customer service focus culture.WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:Languages: English and Japanese proficiency required.Ideal backgroundCandidate must process at least a Diploma in Accounting / University degree in Accounting/Finance.
