Job Description
Perform equipment safety buy-off and drive machinery safety program; Ensure all MAE is safe (according to site requirement) before release to production. Ensure all MAE is equipped with hazard assessment and environmental impact assessment before release to production.
Participates in the review of Machinery design and serves as advisor on safe machinery concepts. Conduct EHS inspection/assessment and provide technical support. Plan and conduct EHS related training to employees, visitors, and contractors.
Liaises with external sources (regulatory, contractor, supplier etc.) to identify, document, and facilitate compliance with various legal and business EHS related requirements. Serves as company's registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) and fully assume the roles and responsibilities of SHO as stipulated in the law.
Analyze data, conduct trend analysis, apply problem-solving methodology and formulate recommendations to drive continual improvement of EHS management system performance; Interact with all levels of people to help develop or revise organization's documented procedures & WI's. Analyzes loss control and accident reports; develops, implements, and maintains procedures to minimize losses and/or accidents.
Perform audits of the system, inspect to current specifications and conformance to the ISO Standard. Co-lead for EHS committee.
Qualifications
Degree in Environmental Science or Occupational Safety and Health.
At least 5-7 years of working experience in this field.
Good knowledge on Machinery safety.
Good knowledge on Malaysia EHS related regulatory requirements, preferably Certified Safety and Health Officer.
Good interpersonal skills; ability to develop relationships quickly and effectively at all levels throughout the company.
Ability to work with people in a culturally diverse environment.
