Role Purpose:The Structural Engineer utilizes experience to support and deliver safe and quality solutions. The Structural Engineer works well and effectively with discipline lead, discipline and inter-discipline engineering team to achieve project objectives and ensure quality in engineering delivery in a timely manner. The Structural Engineer prepares and plans own work according to discipline project priorities and deliverables schedule.
Main Job Responsibilities/Descriptions:Provide technical solutions that account for constructability, integration and installation within schedule and budgetary constraints.
Perform structural analysis calculation and reporting of topsides module modelling, code checks and local calculations.
Support yard fabrication activities and close technical queries taking into account construction constraints and engineering requirements.
Proactively provide Discipline Manager and Discipline Lead with updates regarding activity status, highlight concerns as they arise, and provide guidance to support Discipline Lead to stay within the allocated budget.
Support Discipline Lead to propose options or technical solutions within the boundary of project constraints and provide response to Classification Societies (ABS, DNV, BV) comment.
Work effectively with designers to ensure latest engineering design intent is correctly reflected in 3D model, construction drawing and MTO.
Able to work with the inter-engineering disciplines and other project stakeholders to deliver a consistent and compliant design.
Ensure activities are completed in compliance with applicable policies, client requirements, codes, standards and regulations.
Participate in discipline meetings to share lessons learned, promote better ways of working and suggest improvement.
Job Requirements:Minimum Bachelor Degree in Civil/ Structural/ Mechanical Engineering.
A number of years of working experience in structural engineering and design. However, junior profiles who have potential are also accepted.
Experience in FPSO topsides module structures detailed design and construction support during execution phase.
Familiar with AISC Specification 1989 Edition, AISC 360-16-ASD, API RP2A-WSD and AWS D1.1M.
Familiar with ABS Rules on Floating Production Installation.
Familiar with ABS and DNV guides on fatigue assessment and plate buckling calculations.
Familiar with DNV SESAM GeniE software, STAAD.Pro or SACS.
Experience in Femap NASTRAN FEA software will be an added advantage.
Familiar with MathCAD software.
Experience in MS Excel macro and/or Java Script language will be an added advantage.
Experience in ISO19902 and AISC 360-16-LRFD offshore structures design will be an added advantage.
