Performs, monitors and evaluates Quality Control functions at suppliers and Benchmark facilities in order to assure components and materials meet or exceed requirements.
May also perform Quality function at customer's site.
Involved with supplier selection and development activities related to New Product Introduction (NPI), Prototype and Production business.
Responsibilities
Provides leadership in establishing and managing supplier certification and second source program specific to customer needs.
Performing site audits and/or coordinating supplier audits as appropriate.
Supplier site audits may require directing first article inspection.
Performs Fault Analysis (FA) research on all commodities and provides the appropriate reports and supporting statistical data.
Directing inspection and electrical performance testing as necessary for products.
Initiates and establishes proactive working relationships with suppliers that include acquisition of supplier in-process data, evaluating process capability and arranging regular status.
Ensures that quality levels are maintained and continuously improved by reviewing customer and Company quality requirements for purchased parts, in-house manufactured, assembled and ready-to-ship items.
Facilitates long-term strategic supplier and quality development.
Assists in the analysis of discrepancies or deviations from customer standards or specifications.
Determines root cause of discrepancies and prepares recommendations for corrective actions.
Qualifications
Varies material & commodity background
More than 5 years handling supplier (QA/SQE/NPI/process or mechanical engineering background)
Quality engineering related knowledge
Can perform audits independently, including qualification of suppliers, internal audits, and customer audits
Good CAPA/problem solving knowledge
Conduct supplier performance reviews, drive supplier improvements, and close the loop
Basic supply chain/risk assessment experience
Sourcing related experience
Highly effective interpersonal skills and communication with customers, coworkers, and suppliers.#J-18808-Ljbffr
