The Role Molex is seeking a Sourcing and Procurement professional to manage our new product across the Consumer & Commercial Solutions (CCS) division. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, CCS NPD Sourcing and Malaysia SBM (Supplier Based Management) Lead.
As an engineer of New Product Development Sourcing, you will be responsible for sourcing, project planning and management, executing sourcing events, developing BOM cost models and regular reports to management. You will serve as the sourcing single point of contact for the product development teams supporting the sourcing activities of all BOM line items for product development projects.
What You Will Do Partner with Molex BU design teams throughout Product Development process to manage BOM cost through Product Launch.New product supplier identification, sourcing, selection and contracting for the CCS division.Bring Design to Value (Manufacturing, Quality, Cost, etc.) viewpoint to Product design team.Conduct should-cost and make vs. buy analyses to support sourcing decision.Aggressively negotiate terms as required and in accordance with internal policies.Negotiate legal terms under the guidance of the internal legal support team.Improve New Product Sourcing processes and increase efficiencies by partnering with technical design teams.Apply appropriate category strategies (Metals, Plastics, Electronics, and Outsourcing etc.) to new product sourcing needs.Proactive supply risk management in the new product development process and initial volume phase.Monitor sourcing and procurement innovation trends in the marketplace.Assist Division SBM team aligned with team's goal and strategy. Who You Are 5 or more years' experience in the Procurement function focused on direct spend, with substantial experience in New Product Development Sourcing.Fluent in business English, knowledge in any other Asian language will have added advantage. What Will Put You Ahead Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive accountability.Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization as well as deliver oral presentations on moderately complex subject matter.Demonstrated experience driving cross functional collaboration across business units and geographies.
