Job Responsibilities Work in conjunction with Global Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management on the ongoing development, management and rationalization of the supplier base to meet the strategic needs of the business.Drive "Zero Defect" and 100% On-Time Delivery mentality within the supply base.Implement and monitor the part qualification/sample approval process with selected suppliers.Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes.Assumes Lead role in driving key purchasing metrics to be leveraged across the company's International operations.Provide structured and creative analysis to identify performance improvement opportunities and effectively communicate findings with internal stakeholders.Ensure that best practice procurement processes are in place and adhered to across the company's Global Purchasing Organization.Identify and deliver procurement opportunities that will create year-over-year savings across all operational spending.Develop and foster positive relationships with key supplier personnel. Act as consultant and key liaison between supplier and internal stakeholders.Investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality non-conformance issues by conducting on-site audits, analyzing defect trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Manage supplier performance via regular business reviews.Provide to leadership team clear, concise reports and summaries of findings on an as specified basis.Keep abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise.Serve as subject matter expert and first line of support for supply chain systems and business processes to Purchasing personnel across Global Divisions.Execute and manage purchase orders through a cradle-to-grave procurement life cycleAction requisitions within 24hrs; ensuring technical and commercial clarifications are resolved prior to order placement.Communicate with various levels across departments including Sales Quotations, Planning, Engineering, Assembly, Machining, Shipping/Receiving, Accounting and others for problem resolutionQualifications & Requirements:
Education background in Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent years of experienceAbility to influence, stimulate and energize suppliers.Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively communicate in English4+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment, castings/forgings/machining operations experience preferred.Highly proficient in print reading, interpretation and part measurement techniquesThorough understanding and exposure to Supplier Development processes, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, and Run@Rate.Problem-solving skills and the ability to appropriately evaluate a situation and prioritize factors for decision-making.Proficient in common software tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data collection and graphing.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate between varying functions.Comfortable working in a changing and deadline-driven environmentExperience in quality systems for manufacturing and assembly techniques
