Support Service Manager

Reporting To: Regional Chief Executive Officer/ Chief Executive Officer
Position Summary: Manage the hospital plant and equipment as they relate to engineering, maintenance and safety in accordance with established plans, standard operating procedures, legal and regulatory requirements.Manage other areas such as Housekeeping, Security, Linen, PA Systems, Medical Gases System and compound maintenance. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety. Reviews work standards in accordance with implemented work instruction.
2. Manage department staff, allocates resources for staff as deemed appropriate.
3. Develop and recommend departmental programs to ensure departmental effectiveness.
4. Develop departmental budget and operates within budget to accomplish objectives. Monitor variance against budget and makes appropriate recommendations including cost saving activities.
5. Plan and oversee all reports, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work, renovations and new construction.
6. Develop key performance index for all areas under supervision.
7. Regularly inspect building and equipment to ensure that safety and performance level meets established standards and regulations.
8. Develop systems for control, efficient and effective use of all utilities of hospital plant.
9. Establish preventive maintenance schedules and prioritizes repair and maintenance work minimize disruption to hospital's operation.
10. Coordinate with respective governmental authorities to obtain the necessary certificates and statutory for Engineering, Safety, Health and other related operations.
11. Coordinate all servicing contracts to ensure compliance to terms and conditions of contract.
12. Supervise appointed contractors to do monthly maintenance duties.
13. Develop quality assurance programs for all key responsibility areas.
14. Responsible for the overall environment safety of the buildings by championing environment and fire safety programs.
15. Carry out staffs training need analysis and to develop staffs training program to ascertain staffs competency level.
16. Develop periodical departmental performance assessment report.
17. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Education and Requirements: Diploma in Engineering, Degree preferred.Shall possess certified healthcare facility manager (CHFM) certification.More than 10 years experience in Maintenance and Engineering works with more than 3 years in management level. Preferably has experience in healthcare industry support services/ maintenance/ engineering. Special Demands: Possess good communication and interpersonal relationship skills.Has good analytical skill to interpret and analyze data and reports.Good command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
