Continually improve the system based on audit results, incident investigations, business, and process changes.
Act as a professional Sustainability reference and point of contact.
Plan, execute, and monitor functional Sustainability activities to ensure a mitigated risk level.Key AccountabilitiesStrategies ImplementationImplement the Sustainability activities and plans by advising managers and supervisors to engage employees in accordance with Sustainability policies and procedures, continuously raising awareness among management, supervisors, and employees to achieve sustainability objectives and targets.Management ArrangementsDevelop, implement, and monitor the sustainability management system and programs.
Continually search for improvements to protect people from injury and occupational illnesses, the environment from damage, and the business from unnecessary losses, based on company Sustainability Principles and Practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
Ensure that procedures are appropriate to the risk profile of the factory and understood; the responsibilities are clear; and the programs are supported.
Ensure consistent and straightforward communication and replication from any sources of learning (such as accidents, audits, benchmarking...).Risk ManagementExecute a proactive loss prevention program including risk management (identification, assessment, and control), inspections, audits, and emergency planning, by monitoring their implementation to eliminate or reduce health, safety, and environmental risks to an acceptable level.
Keep abreast of the latest Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental regulatory requirements and the latest technology on prevention and control to advise and direct the organization in meeting legal and company requirements.
Ensure contractor compliance with Sustainability legal and PMI minimum requirements.
Collaborate with the company medical doctor to identify and address potential workplace health issues.
Be the professional reference for PPE and working tool selection.TrainingDevelop and implement Sustainability training modules by analyzing training needs and maintaining training records of employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure they fully understand the Sustainability aspects of their job and responsibilities.
Continuously improve Sustainability training based on feedback and emerging needs.Performance and ReportingProvide timely reporting of Sustainability performance indicators to factory management, cluster/region, and Sustainability department at OC by ensuring the data is updated and accurate to ensure reliability of the information.ProjectsParticipate in Sustainability projects by providing clarity on the integration of Sustainability requirements in the design, construction/installation, and commissioning of new and/or revamped buildings, engineering works, machinery, and equipment.
Monitor the technical certification of all new equipment brought into the factory to eliminate or reduce risks and comply with legal requirements.
Coordinate programs to reduce waste and emissions and minimize the use of energy and natural resources by monitoring and analyzing current usage and outputs with relevant departments, highlighting areas for improvement to achieve environmental key performance indicators and achieve continual improvement.Incident Management and Emergency PreparednessCoordinate the accident investigation, analysis, and reporting, and maintain records of all incident/accident information accordingly, to allow the Sustainability Department and Management to identify basic causes and take actions to prevent the incident from occurring again.
Implement and test the emergency preparedness program to eliminate or minimize losses due to emergency incidents (as per PMI definition).Performance ImprovementSupport Sustainability projects in identifying needs, weaknesses, and/or emerging issues and propose solutions to improve Sustainability performance and achieve Sustainability objectives and targets.
Participate in the affiliate budget exercise through the development of projects and resources needed to close legal gaps, non-compliances, and Sustainability improvement needs; monitor agreed project execution.RequirementsCollege/University degree in Sustainability (Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environment Engineering) subjects.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with a detailed understanding of legal requirements and applicable standards.
Certified ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 auditor.
Certified Safety and Health Officer is an added advantage.
Fluent English & Malay language knowledge is an asset.
PC literate and able to use Microsoft Word, Office, PowerPoint.
Expert in safety tools i.e., JSA, HIRARC, Working permit system, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP).#J-18808-Ljbffr
