Position: System Administrator
Job Scope:This is a newly created position, reporting to the IT Manager and responsible for all servers and networks in Well Chip Group Berhad and related companies, including on-premises and cloud environments.
Job Description (Primary Responsibilities):
System Maintenance and Monitoring:Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and applications.
Monitor system performance and ensure uptime and availability.
Conduct regular system audits and compliance checks.Troubleshooting and Support:Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
Provide Level 2 or Level 3 technical support to users and IT helpdesk teams.
Address security vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks.User Account Management:Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts and access permissions.
Manage directory services like Active Directory or LDAP.
Enforce policies on password management and access control.Network and Security:Configure and manage network devices, firewalls, endpoint detection & response software (EDR), and VPNs.
Implement and maintain security protocols to protect systems and data.
Respond to and mitigate cybersecurity threats.System Updates and Backups:Apply system patches, updates, and firmware upgrades.
Maintain and test data backup (e.g. ArcServe UDP) and recovery procedures.
Ensure business continuity through disaster recovery planning.Infrastructure Management:Manage virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Oversee storage solutions (e.g., Synology NAS) and ensure sufficient capacity.
Configure and maintain server clusters (e.g., Hyper-V) and load balancers.
Maintain systems such as email, email spam filtering, Wi-Fi, Internet, online meeting (e.g., Zoom), phone systems, and CCTV.Documentation and Reporting:Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.
Generate reports on system performance, security events, and resource usage.
Provide technical input for IT policies and compliance requirements.Collaboration and Communication:Work with developers, database administrators, and network engineers.
Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software procurement and support.
Provide training and guidance to IT support teams and end users.IT Assets Management
Assist in Internal/External Audit Process for IT Department
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent qualifications.
4 to 5 years of work experience in handling company servers and networks, user accounts administration, troubleshooting, and firewall administration.
Mandarin-speaking required due to work associates.
Added advantage if possessing the following certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA) in Cybersecurity
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate#J-18808-Ljbffr
