Tax Assistant Manager

Tax Compliance and Reporting:Oversee the review and timely submission of corporate tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines.
This includes managing Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, Withholding Tax (WHT), and other compliance filings.
Team Leadership and Development:Manage, mentor, and develop team members to maintain a high-performing team.
Provide guidance and coaching to improve technical competencies and overall performance.
Encourage collaboration within the team and with cross-border colleagues across diverse industries.
Stakeholder Collaboration:Lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, local auditors, and member firms.
Act as a liaison between various parties to ensure seamless communication and delivery of services.
Client Advisory:Provide tax advisory services on corporate tax, real property gains tax (RPGT), and stamp duty matters.
Assist clients with tax incentive or grant applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Process Optimization and Technology Transformation:Support transformation initiatives by adopting technology tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting and client service delivery.
Assist in transitioning new clients and standardizing processes.
Client Relationship Management:Build and maintain productive working relationships with clients, identifying business development opportunities.
Ensure client satisfaction by offering tailored advisory solutions and maintaining professional communication.
Ad Hoc Requests:Handle additional tasks and assignments to support client services and the department's overall objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements
A recognized university degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or a professional qualification (ACCA, MIA, MICPA).
Minimum of 5 years of working experience, preferably in a professional services firm.
Strong technical knowledge in tax compliance, advisory, and corporate regulatory matters.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize work under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and tax software.
Experience with Power BI or other data analysis tools is an advantage.
Fluent in written and spoken English, with proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin preferred.
A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrates a willingness to learn and participate in professional development.
Experience in project management, particularly in cross-border assignments, is a plus.
Familiarity with technology transformation and adoption in tax processes is an asset.
