We are seeking a detail-oriented and analyticalTax Executiveto join our team.
The successful candidate will support the tax department in ensuring full compliance with regional tax regulations, including transfer pricing requirements, and help optimize tax processes.
This role involves preparing accurate tax filings, supporting audits, and providing guidance on tax-related matters for the GDEX Group of Companies.
Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:Prepare and file indirect tax (e.g.
SST, GST, VAT), withholding tax, and other statutory tax filings in accordance with local tax laws.
Support external tax consultants in the preparation of corporate tax returns.
Ensure timely and accurate submissions of all tax-related documents.
Maintain accurate records of all tax filings and documentation.Support external tax consultants in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and reports in accordance with tax regulations and OECD guidelines.
Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately documented and compliant with transfer pricing policies.
Support in managing and defending transfer pricing audits or inquiries from tax authorities.
Tax Planning and Advisory:Assist in developing and implementing tax strategies to optimize tax efficiency.
Provide guidance on tax and transfer pricing implications for various business transactions and activities both local and cross-border.
Research updates in regional tax laws, including transfer pricing regulations, to ensure the company's compliance.Audit Support:Coordinate and support internal and external tax and transfer pricing audits.
Liaise with tax authorities and respond to queries, disputes, or audits.
Ensure accurate documentation and records for audit purposes.Reporting and Documentation:Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports.
Maintain proper documentation of all tax computations, transfer pricing analyses, and supporting materials.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax and transfer pricing information in financial statements.Work closely with the finance, accounting, and legal teams to ensure seamless tax and transfer pricing reporting.
Coordinate with external consultants, auditors, and tax advisors as needed.
Compliance Monitoring:Monitor local tax deadlines and compliance requirements to avoid penalties.
Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance tax compliance and efficiency.Requirements:
Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or CTIM) is a plus.Experience:3-7 years of experience in a tax-related role, preferably with exposure to a commercial or public accounting environment.
Knowledge of regional taxation laws (Income Tax, Indirect Tax, Withholding Tax, Transfer Pricing).Skills:Strong understanding of Malaysian tax and compliance requirements.
Understanding of regional tax laws and transfer pricing is a bonus.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERPs.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
