Exciting opportunity to join our Renewables team as Tax Specialist, APAC and EU!Job Summary:The Tax Specialist will be part of the Tax team, responsible for tax compliance matters for the Yinson Renewables (YR) business in Asia Pacific and Europe Region (APAC and EU).
Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with tax regulations internally and externally for YR APAC and EU entities;
Periodically review tax accounts for YR APAC and EU entities prepared by local consultants or in-house accountants;
Liaise with local authorities regarding tax audits for YR businesses in APAC and EU regions;
Advise on cross-border tax matters, including profit repatriation strategies, withholding taxes, and permanent establishment issues;
Assist in the implementation of Group BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) Pillar 2.0 initiatives;
Conduct transfer pricing studies and value chain analyses to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions;
Review and perform preliminary tax due diligence on potential deals to identify tax risks and opportunities;
Collaborate with various advisers on M&A deals, acquisitions, and divestments to ensure tax-efficient structuring;
Liaise with local tax authorities to secure applicable incentives and grants (where applicable);
Manage ad-hoc tax-related matters and perform other tasks as assigned;
Monitor and analyze changes in tax laws and regulations in APAC and EU regions;
Identify and implement improvements in tax processes and controls;
Work closely with the wider Finance team to foster a culture of delivery and excellence.
Qualifications and Skills:Degree in Accountancy or ACCA / CPA qualification or equivalent;
Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or a large organization with an in-house tax function;
Experience in the renewables industry is an added advantage;
Experience in International taxation is an added advantage;
Ability to interpret the General Ledger and solid understanding of tax accounting;
Fluent in English, both verbally and written;
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment with a high degree of ambiguity;
Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex matters concisely and effectively across all levels of the organisation.
