We are representing our client; one of the leading pastries and bakeries in Perak. Currently with 14 bakery outlets in Perak, along with 2 hype and buzzing pastry cafés in Selangor.
Work Location: HQ in Ipoh, Perak (Central Kitchen). A new outlet will open in KL/Selangor in 2025.
Accommodation allowance provided (for outstation candidates)
Main Responsibilities:
Maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency across all products.
Develop new recipes and refine existing ones to enhance product offerings, while preserving the authenticity of baking traditions.
Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure that all products meet the company's standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring optimal freshness and availability of all necessary supplies.
Provide training and mentorship to junior bakers and kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.
Work closely with the product development and management teams to introduce new and seasonal products, aligning with market trends and customer preferences.
Adhere to and enforce all hygiene and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 to 5 years of related working experience.
Possess a culinary degree or equivalent certification in bakery or pastry arts, food science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Bakery Chef, or R&D Chef in the food industry, with a focus on bakery products.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire a team.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functionality, and recipe formulation.
Creativity, innovation, and passion for experimenting with flavors, textures, and presentations.
Communication, collaboration, and presentation skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to food safety and quality standards.
Familiarity with food regulations, labeling requirements, and industry best practices in bakery R&D.
