The Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology Division (BNSM) is the world's leading provider of Atomic Force and 3D Optical Microscopes, Nano-Indentation Systems, Tribology & Mechanical Testers and Stylus Profilometers for research and industrial manufacturing applications.
This is a key position within the TSOM (Tribology, Stylus, and Optical Metrology) business unit and will be responsible for programs involving Tribology and Mechanical Test products. The position will be based at our facility in Penang, Malaysia. The candidate will work closely with the engineering, marketing, applications, service, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment across the organization and to develop program/project plans and oversee/track from conception and planning to implementation, including strategies, processes, and resources. We are looking for an individual that has exceptional teamwork skills, communication skills, is self-motivated, and is enthusiastic about instrumentation.
ResponsibilitiesLead cross-functional project teams in a matrix environment within the framework of Bruker's Product Life Cycle process.
Manage scope, schedule, resources (manpower and controllable budget) and risks of tribology and mechanical test projects.
Interface and coordinate with internal customers to define objectives, provide status updates, and prepare for release and deployment.
Drive allocated resources from all organizations to achieve performance objectives on time and within budget.
Provide regular tracking updates to management with regards to cost, schedule, and performance.
Provide business process and technical expertise to the team.
Identify and resolve potential complications and critical path issues within the program and collaborate with experts to develop solutions for resolution.
QualificationsBS in engineering with over 15 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 10 years of technical program management for successful complex instrumentation/automation programs involving electromechanical hardware and software.
Project management of at least 5 complete product development cycles of complex equipment, from concept to manufacturing release, within a formalized Product Life Cycle process.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Project.
Demonstrated proficiency in project management within a matrix environment.
Proficiency with structured troubleshooting approaches.
Engineering expertise that is deep in at least one area and broad across other engineering disciplines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels in the organization.
Strong problem solving and decision driving skills.
Ability to see the big picture and grasp complex interconnections, self-driven, and has a bias for action.
