POSITION SUMMARY:
The Failure Analysis Technician supports the Failure Analysis Engineering function by monitoring field quality data for accuracy and consistency, understanding historical failure modes, and identifying new field issues. Failure Analysis Technicians track and archive Failure Analysis reporting to build a knowledge database of issues and resolutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures integrity of failure data including conditions, symptoms, and failure modes. Reviews RMA data for consistent, complete failure coding.
Identifies trends in failures and provides quantitative analysis of such trends.
Identifies and documents the most probable Root Cause(s) of failures.
Drives Corrective Action for simple failures.
Prepares complete, concise Failure Analysis reports for internal and external customer communications.
Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
Other duties as assigned.
Regularly work in development and test labs, and manufacturing facilities.
Travel to international locations may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient knowledge and troubleshooting skills in electronic circuits, components, PCBs, and manufacturing processes.
SAP, SAP Business Warehouse, Microsoft Office applications, and general database management.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey factual learnings.
EXPERIENCE:
Specific product knowledge which enables effective failure analysis.
Demonstrated Failure Analysis of complex, electo-mechanical assemblies.
EDUCATION:
Technical school or high school level or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
Associate's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Certified 6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology.#J-18808-Ljbffr
