The Opportunity
We are seeking an individual to join us as a Technician Maintenance & Calibration (Molding/Tool).
In this role, you will be responsible for operating, calibrating, and maintaining machinery, as well as inspecting finished products to ensure quality work.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Planning and organizing the working process to produce goods and workmanship of high quality.
Preparing the work area and arranging the right tooling for the right job.
Properly setting up equipment and machinery to ensure that the job meets product specifications and quality standards.
Performing operations as stated in the relevant supporting documents and conducting inspections to ensure that products meet quality requirements.
Ensuring all machinery and equipment are in optimal operating conditions.
Attending to breakdowns of equipment and carrying out professional repairs.
Liaising with the production supervisor for repairs or maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
Proposing and verifying improvement plans for production tools, fixtures, equipment, and machines.
Checking work done in your section periodically to ensure good quality.
Removing molds after production runs and sending them for servicing.
Maintaining mold technician tools and equipment and reporting damages to superiors.
Properly reporting all molding-related activities.
Observing and training operators in proper handling of machines and equipment, including safety measures.
Maintaining high standards of production housekeeping.
Ensuring safe working methods are adopted at all times.
Position Specific Skills and Challenges
Knowledge of equipment and machinery setup to ensure job specifications and quality standards are met.
Able to operate, calibrate, and maintain machinery, as well as inspect finished products.
Able to train operators regarding the molding process and machinery.
Good knowledge about machine parts and tools used in the molding process.
Able to translate technical information understandably and coordinate with other technicians.
Willing to learn from various personnel related to the process.
Able to work collaboratively in a team.
Why is this role right for you?
3-5 years of experience, preferably in the molding process (melting, injecting, cooling, and ejecting).
Minimum Diploma in Mechanical, Technical, or Manufacturing qualification.
Understanding of the molding process from raw material to finished goods.
Experience in the setup of molding process flow, with an advantage if you have completed a setup project.
Experience in machine/tool testing to ensure proper functionality.
