Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Mechanical Testing and Reliability Technician is responsible for conducting mechanical tests to ensure product durability and performance. This role involves hands-on work with electro-mechanical lab equipment.
Mechanical and Environmental Testing:Perform mechanical testing, including vibration, shock, HALT, Insertion, and drop testing, as well as accelerated environmental testing in compliance with reliability standards.
Lab Equipment Operation:Operate and maintain electro-mechanical lab equipment such as environmental chambers, vibration testers, shock testers, drop testers, and other relevant testing tools.
Measurement and Data Analysis:Utilize measurement devices such as oscilloscopes, microscopes, strain gauges, and accelerometers to gather data, ensuring accurate and reliable test results.
Schematics and Drawings Interpretation:Read and interpret simple schematics and mechanical drawings to guide testing procedures and fixture design.
Test Fixture Development:Co-develop and design custom mechanical test fixtures for various package form factors.
QualificationsEducational Background:
Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Additional certifications in mechanical testing or reliability testing are a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in mechanical testing methods, including vibration, shock, and drop testing.
Experience with operating lab equipment such as environmental chambers, vibration testers, shock testers, and drop testers.
Skilled in using measurement instruments like oscilloscopes, microscopes, strain gauges, accelerometers, etc.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and test specifications.
Knowledge of industry standards for reliability testing.
