Tooling Specialist

This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency of tool room operations by overseeing the maintenance, repair, and inventory management of all tools and equipment.
Job Description:
Manage tool inventory by maintaining an accurate inventory of all cutting tools and equipment, including receiving, storing, replacing, and issuing tools to machinists and production.
Prepare tools for use on CNC machines, which may involve setting, measuring, and inspecting tools.
Be responsible for tool maintenance which includes repairing, regrinding, resharpening, and replacing worn-out components.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all tools and equipment to minimize downtime and extend lifespan.
Coordinate with internal departments to fulfill tool requests and ensure the availability of necessary equipment for production or projects.
Provide training to machinists/technicians on the proper use and care of cutting tools.
Monitor tool costs and implement cost-saving measures.
Job Requirements:
Technical certification or relevant vocational training is preferred.
Experience working in a tool room or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
