Job Description Oversee the large-scale trading of non-ferrous metals, including copper, zinc, lead, aluminum, nickel, and tin, as well as bulk agricultural products like Southeast Asian timber, nuts, seafood, cosmetics, fruits, and durians, to facilitate the group's expansion in international import and export markets.
Build and nuture strong relationship with customers and suppliers facilitating smooth contract negotiations and implementation in the trade of metals or agricultural products.
Evaluate and analyze market and trading risks, delivering timely updates and pertinent trade information to management.
Consistently update management on transactions, financial performance, and profitability, while supervising daily trading operations.
Formulate and execute policies, business strategies, and budgets for metal trading or agricultural products in Malaysia to meet business goals.
Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers, processors, shippers, and financial institutions to collect and analyze business data.
Up-to-date about global market trends and offer proactive, innovative strategies to address shifts in international economic and political conditions.
Predict market trends and utilize the group's resources and financial capabilities to identify opportunities for strategic alliances, investments, acquisitions, and partnerships with producers, processors, and consumers.
Oversee the effective functioning of all support systems—trading, documentation, finance, and coordination—to facilitate seamless business processes and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
Ensure risk management is upheld within the guidelines established by management to maintain business stability.
Ensure adherence to credit risk management policies, except when otherwise authorized by management.
Requirements Individual with Degree holder in a relevant field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in bulk trading of non-ferrous metals or agricultural products, preferably involving timber, nuts, seafood, cosmetics, fruits, and durians, with a proven track record of success.
Depth-understanding of global metal supply chains, consumption patterns, and the economic factors influencing the metals market.
Familiarity with production and processing techniques, as well as logistics and port operations.
Demonstrated capability to engage and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.
Capable of handling multiple priorities and performing efficiently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
