Guan Chong Cocoa Manufacturer Sdn Bhd is Asia's largest cocoa processing company based in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia. We are currently seeking a Trading Executive to support the cocoa trading department on trading and daily operational issues. This position will mainly focus on assisting the traders and any other ad hoc assigned duties.
Responsibilities:
Physical Trade Support: Assist traders in managing physical cocoa trades, including order processing, documentation, and logistics coordination.
Supplier & Customer Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and negotiating terms to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Internal Coordination: Act as a liaison between trading, logistics, finance, and other internal departments to facilitate communication, streamline processes, and resolve cross-functional issues.
Analysis and Reporting: Conduct research, analysis, and reporting on beans and cocoa products, including market trends, pricing dynamics, and supply demand.
Sustainability Follow-Up: Monitor and follow up on sustainability-related initiatives, such as customer specialized bean programs and compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EU-DR), ensuring adherence to environmental standards and regulations.
Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform various ad hoc tasks assigned by traders, including research projects, data analysis, presentation preparation, and administrative support, to contribute to the overall success of the trading department.
Structure:
This position is structured as an hourly, full-time position (min 40 hours per week) reporting to Joyce Hia, Trading Manager. The position will be based in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia, and will take place as soon as possible.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate or undergraduate in Financial, Mathematic, Actuarial, Accounting, Finance, Art & Science, and business major.
Preferable fresh graduate or with working knowledge of less than 2 years on topics related to commodity trading, banking and financing, commodity product manufacturing, and/or sustainability.
Experience working with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, SAP.
Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings in a thoughtful and concise manner.
Ability to work and think entrepreneurially and independently with strong time and information management skills.
Detail-oriented and able to follow up on tasks for traders.
Might require travel overseas for business when necessary.
Bonus point for Japanese/Korean/French speaker.
