Translation Specialist (Korean Language)We are looking for an Associate Translation Specialist/ Translation Specialist to join our talented translation team in Clarivate, Malaysia. In this role, you will use your language skills in areas such as Life sciences, Pharma, Chemistry/Biomedical engineering, etc. to perform post-editing and proofreading of patent content from Korean into English to ensure that the patent content contains the most precise, pertinent, and up-to-date information.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
University degree, preferably in translation or language related areas, and the technology area
Native level or TOPIK Level 6 in Korean, as well as professional working proficiency in English.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A customer-driven approach and good business awareness.
Visible "can do" approach to work and positive attitude to change.
Detail-oriented, thorough, accurate, able to meet deadlines, and able to work quickly and steadily in a focused manner to achieve organizational goals.
Demonstrate initiative, persistence, ability to problem solve, and enthusiasm for learning.
Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision.
What will you be doing in this role?
Reviewing incoming translations from suppliers, recording any quality issues and logging the assessment of the translation's quality, while respecting the several quality checks, deadlines, customer and subject area specificities, internal procedures and templates, quality standards and KPI's.
Reviewing and assessing Machine translation outputs, using LQA forms and language resources in order to optimize MT quality.
Actively managing and maintaining translation linguistic assets, including customer-and industry specific glossaries and translation memories, creating and updating glossaries where needed.
Proactively recommending improvements as well as corrective and preventive actions to reduce customer or internal complaints, improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
Participating in continuous improvement by collaborating in quality or project-related initiatives.
Actively participating in weekly team meetings, preparing the yearly individual evaluation process by submitting proposals for next year objectives and training proposition according to company values.
Participating in creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture and a team spirit.
It would be great if you also have…
Prior experience as a linguist using CAT tools
Prior experience in quality control.
Intellectual Property experience would be a plus.
About the Team
The Translations teams in Penang, Malaysia mainly perform machine-assisted translations on patents from China/Japan/South Korea patent offices. We strive to deliver the highest quality data that goes beyond our customers' expectations.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time permanent position with normal working hours. Out-of-working-hour meetings may occur occasionally to meet other teams from different time zones.
