Tutor/ Clinical Instructor (College of Nursing)Provide holistic development of student nurses through teaching and learning activities with emphasis on nursing and clinical supervision, while meeting the current health trend.
Promote quality nursing care in the clinical area by teaching all aspects of nursing education in the stated curriculum that encompasses the knowledge, skill and attitude of a competent and sound nurse.
Maintain students' records and reports in compliance with the regulations from MOHE, MQA and Nursing Board Malaysia.
Collaborate with the nursing team from the clinical division in coordinating the diploma in nursing and post basic programmes.
Accountable for the implementation of the Diploma in Nursing and post basic programmes in order to produce registered nurses who are knowledgeable, skillful and caring that are able to deliver quality patient care in compliance with the best practices in the clinical area.
Carry out clinical supervision of students in the wards.
Assist to conduct clinical teaching and nursing conference.
Participate in in-service education of hospital staff.
Ensure clinical evaluation of students are checked and report any discrepancies to the Principal.
Provide Administrative duties i.e. compliance to with the regulations from MOHE, MQA and Nursing Board Malaysia, attend meetings.
Prepare lectures/lecture demonstration and AVAs.
Appraise the performance of students in terms of knowledge, skill and attitude and report to Principal.
Conduct remedial classes and extra tutorials for students who are weak.
Ensure lecture-demonstrations are conducted accordingly and students' performance are evaluated during return demonstrations.
Participate as an examiner in the Malaysian Nursing Board when assigned.
Conduct classroom teachings in accordance of the curriculum and best practices in nursing outcomes.
Attend to Students' welfare and other related duties.
Any other duties as assigned by Principal.
Liaise with external lecturer in scheduling lectures and payments.
Assist in/with marketing activities to promote training programs.
JOB REQUIREMENT
Basic diploma/degree in nursing or nursing related degree upon approval by the NBM.
Post basic certification in perioperative.
Certificate in teaching or have done a module in teaching methodology from an accredited university/institution as approved by the NBM.
Relevant qualification or experience in a nursing specialty in accordance to the subjects taught.
Minimum 2 years working experience.
Plan and conduct classroom teaching autonomously and skillfully.
Demonstrate ability to work independently in clinical area.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the job.
Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
Able to communicate effectively to students, parents / guardians and staffs of the Hospital.
