About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use):12
This role will lead in generating production, cost and economic modelling of oil & gas projects covering the Asia Pacific region. It will also support delivery of integrated upstream market research.
Customer focus is central to this role's approach in generating content, analysis and insight that would enhance customers' critical decisions and optimize solutions. With a deep understanding and expertise in the region's E&P business, this role will also support revenue growth for the Upstream Solutions business line.

Responsibilities:
Lead team in conducting independent research and then integrating these findings with our internal tools/sources to build consistent and insightful upstream asset analysis. Reserve estimation, production forecasting, field development planning, cost estimation are all requirements for the role.
Lead in sourcing information. This would include building scouting network. Independently utilize available publications for research support.
Coordinate technical information flow; conduct content quality check; and sometimes lead technical content projects supporting various upstream products. Support operational and process improvements.
Engage customers to support their workflows and decision making. Provide expert insights/presentations on Asia Pacific upstream trends and outlook.
Actively participate in industry societies. Deliver technical papers and present in key conferences and events in the region.
Work across business lines to support customer requests; advisory deliverables; topical integrated research initiatives/collaboration; product development; product marketing; and sales revenue growth.
Other areas of responsibility comprise:
Develop solid understanding of the upstream oil & gas sector including resource development, cost estimating, midstream infrastructure, demand/supply, and regulatory issues.
Ability to perform detailed research and critically assess and capture field/company/country data from various sources.
Effectively prioritize competing requests for limited resources to deliver content, respond to stakeholders and support commercial activities.
What We're Looking For:
BSc. or MSc. in petroleum engineering or petroleum economics.
7-10 years of experience in an operating company or as an upstream researcher/analyst for a research or consulting firm would be highly desirable.
Knowledge of / experience in petroleum engineering or economics, and E&P operations are all advantageous.
Good track record of working with multi-disciplinary teams. Deep understanding of E&P trends, above-ground issues, field developments and M&A; relationships with upstream stakeholders (oil and gas companies, regulators, service companies and financial institutions).
Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Proven presenter in several key regional industry events and published several technical papers.
Knowledge of S&P Commodity Insights – Upstream Solutions products and workflows preferred.
