The Vice President of Data Analytics and Strategy is responsible for two areas, analytics and strategy. This role involves guiding the development and execution of company-wide analytics to support business growth, enhance operational efficiency, and improve decision-making. The VP will oversee the analytics team, manage strategic initiatives, and collaborate with senior leadership to align the company's data and strategy efforts with its overall vision and objectives.
Role Description
Data AnalyticsLead the analytics team in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to provide actionable insights.
Develop and implement a comprehensive data analytics strategy that aligns with the company's business goals.
Develop and implement a comprehensive, holistic system and processes including detailed Standard Operating Procedures for collecting data for health tourism by collaborating with the Government, Private, and relevant organizations both locally and internationally.
Collect and analyze data from various sources, including internal systems, third-party tools, and market research, to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
Develop and implement a framework for data analysis, data interpretation, and data visualization from the collected data based on the requirements of the company.
Provide regular timely reports, and ad-hoc reports that are requested by the company.
Develop and implement a comprehensive analytics strategy to support the organization's business objectives.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on data analysis, helping them make informed decisions and drive business growth.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in analytics tools and technologies, and evaluate their potential to improve our data analysis capabilities.
Drive data governance initiatives by establishing data quality standards, ensuring data accuracy, and implementing data security measures.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data infrastructure, systems, and tools are optimized to support efficient data collection, storage, and analysis.
Effectively communicate complex analytical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations, reports, and visualizations.
Lead the development of the strategic and business plan for the company.
Monitor the implementation of the company strategies and business plan on a regular schedule, conduct reviews, assess performance, and intervene in the event of shortfalls through a systematic approach with timely discussions with top management.
Provide regular reports of these reviews to the Top Management.
Collaborate with other divisions to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports to track and measure performance against these metrics.
Provide market insights, assessments, and forecasts on opportunities including partnerships outside of Malaysia.
Continuously scan for opportunities to optimize the value of Malaysia as the Center for Health Tourism in the region and the world, by working with relevant sectors in the governmental and private sectors both locally and internationally.
Requirements:
A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, MS in Data Science, or healthcare-related) is preferred.
A minimum of 15 years of experience, including at least ten (10) years in data analytics, business intelligence, strategy, health, or a related field, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role.
Experience in developing, implementing, and managing a data analytic business unit; experience in the Healthcare Industry would be an added advantage.
Proven success in interacting with senior executive-level management to determine solutions, resolve issues, and present recommendations.
Proven track record in leading complex cross-functional teams and projects while maintaining an efficient plan, tracking issues, and proactively communicating progress against project milestones.
Ability to motivate and inspire large and diverse teams, manage multiple projects in real-time, and identify and resolve operational and integration challenges.
Ability to grasp the big picture landscape, manage ambiguity, and formulate policy, developing and implementing new or improved strategies and initiatives.
Highly motivated with good business instincts, active participation, and a dynamic mindset.
High integrity and accountability with a strong passion for nation building.
Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills, financial or data analysis skills, and mastery in presentation and related software.
