Job Title
VP – Property Planning and Development
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic team to manage existing property development initiatives and spearhead the launch and management of a new property development company. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating business strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading the development process from concept to project completion, and ensuring successful development projects. This is a key leadership role requiring deep knowledge of the property market in Malaysia and strong background with government processes and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the Company's development projects, from feasibility and planning stage to launch and evaluation up to award and implementation, including planning, coordinating, monitoring, risk mitigation and regular reporting to management.
Highly knowledgeable on compliance with local property development regulations, building codes, and other relevant legislation.
Proven ability to work with Malaysian government agencies, local authorities, and regulatory bodies. Specific experience is also preferred on government processes, regulations, and circulars.
Prepare and manage budgets, financial models, and project forecasts.
Build, lead, and manage a high-performance team, including project managers, marketing professionals, and operational staff.
Have excellent communication and organisational skills to manage various large-scale projects and the diverse range of stakeholders involved in each project, from consultants to operators or authorities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Town Planning.
Ten (10) or more years of experience in property development, project management, and construction implementation.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Bahasa, problem solving capability and development planning skills.
Software knowledge required: MS Office, Autocad.
Strong understanding of the property development landscape in Malaysia, including regulatory requirements and market trends.
Proven track record in managing successful property development projects from inception to completion.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to innovate, identify opportunities, and drive growth.
Preferred Skills
Experience in a government-linked company or experience with significant interaction with government agencies.
Knowledge of the local property market and development trends.
