Position SummaryPrincipal ResponsibilitiesThe VS Supervisor is a front-line worker who leads a team and is expected to work well with the employees they supervise.
The VS Supervisor should be able to function well without a lot of supervision, yet also report important events or problems to the manager they work under.
The VS Supervisor understands the expectations of higher management and how to meet or exceed these goals.
The VS Supervisor is responsible for getting the most of the goals from the production staff by inspiring and motivating them by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
To organize and control all activities for the smooth running of the production floor so that the desired level of quality as per assigned standard is achieved.
A VS Supervisor also must work directly alongside Team Leaders, Buddies, and employees to accomplish tasks.
To work closely with the demand planning department in Production Planning, scheduling, and execution.
To involve in the identification of non-conformities in the production floor and come up with improvement proposals.
Resolves production problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending actions.
To follow up in Planning and implementation of preventive maintenance.
To plan tools and spares requirements for production needs.
To control all material usage and set up waste in the production floor and support CIPS, MUV, LUV indicators.
To develop process improvement activities.
Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources allocated effectively; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
To ensure workstations are kept well at all times and properly maintain premises and work environment safe and clean by ensuring the team under supervision complies with Safety Regulation, Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, and other legislative requirements.
To ensure quality initiatives i.e.
TPS, 5S Poka-Yoke, TPM, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement activities are promoted and carried out in the shift.
To ensure periodic training of the subordinates allocated so that their resources will be efficiently utilized.
Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
To inform superior/relevant personnel in the event of major problems pertaining to prolonged overtime, rejects, industrial unrest, fire, water shortages, etc.
Maintains staff morale by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
QualificationEducation / Experience RequirementsBachelor Degree or above in Engineering or Science.
ExperienceMin 2 years working experience in related field preferably in plastic extrusion, blow molding, injection molding, production.
Experience in directing and supervising production personnel.
Specialized Skills / Other RequirementsOther Competencies/ Skills:
Able to carry out training skills in new product development.
Possess technical knowledge and be adept at all phases of the manufacturing processes.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Power Point, Word, and Excel.
Ability to lead and drive continuous improvement.
Comprehensive knowledge with good communication skills and understanding of human relations skills, interpersonal skills, principles, and team building processes.
Able to work a flexible schedule.
