As well as promotes work-life balance by offering flexible work arrangements and various employee engagement initiatives.Together be part of something bigger, only at NexperiaAbout the role The Wafer Map Handling Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting and enhancing wafer map handling processes, ensuring smooth data flow between wafer-level manufacturing and test equipment, and providing technical support to engineering and production teams.
The role will include managing wafer map data, resolving issues related to map translation, integrating with automated systems, and contributing to process optimization.
This engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product engineering, yield analysis, and IT support, to maintain high-quality production output and support continuous improvement initiativesWhat you will doWafer Map Management & Data HandlingManage wafer map data for semiconductor products across different process stages, including sorting, assembly, and testing.Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot wafer map translation scripts to support equipment and product changes.Coordinate with the engineering and production teams to set up and validate new wafer map formats.Monitor and ensure correct map handling for seamless data flow between Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and automated test equipment.Technical Support & Issue ResolutionAct as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting wafer map handling issues in production environments, member of global virtual wafer map handling support team.Analyze data discrepancies and equipment interface problems, proposing effective solutions.Work with equipment vendors and IT support to resolve software/hardware-related map handling problems.Process Improvement & AutomationIdentify opportunities to standardize and to streamline wafer map handling processes and reduce manual interventions.Drive the implementation of best practices for wafer map handlingDocumentation & ComplianceCreate and maintain detailed documentation, including process flows, and troubleshooting guides.Ensure compliance with company standards and semiconductor industry requirements for data management and quality.Cross-functional CollaborationLiaise with product engineers, yield enhancement teams, and IT departments to align wafer map handling processes with product requirements.Collaborate with software vendors, delivering SW solutions and upgradesSupport the deployment of new products and processes by configuring and validating corresponding wafer maps.What you will needBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a related field.Relevant experience or certifications in semiconductor manufacturing and data management are a plus.5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with a focus on data handling, test engineering, or manufacturing support.Proven expertise in wafer map management, data translation, and interfacing with manufacturing/test equipment.Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, SQL) for data handling and automation.Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing systems (e.g., MES, SPC tools) and test platforms.Experience in using wafer map formats such as STDF, KLA SINF3 and other industry standards.Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication and backend test processes.Familiarity with industry standards and compliance protocols related to wafer handling (e.g., JEDEC, SEMI).This is your department and colleagues:The Nexperia Map Handling activity is part of Nexperias IT team and is in charge to deliver a fluent wafermap handling process for all our products.
