JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall daily operations of the warehouse including physical inbound and outbound activities, inventory management and accuracy, safety and quality.
Identify repetitive processes, enhance efficiency, and initiate activities for continuous improvement.
Responsible for the optimum use of warehouse space and layout to avoid overflow storage and additional costs.
Establish efficient warehousing systems and procedures to maintain stock accuracy at all times.
Maintain physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
Coordinate maintenance schedules for facilities, equipment, infrastructure, and system breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
Adhere to safe-workplace procedures in the warehouse.
Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, orienting, coordinating training for employees, and appraising job results.
Ensure compliance with Halal and Malaysian regulations related to warehousing, advising management on needed actions.
Perform any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management / Logistics or related field of study.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Melayu.
Able to report to work on short notice.
Minimum 5-8 years' managerial experience in a similar position, preferably from the logistics industry.
Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, especially in bonded, non-bonded & LMW licenses.
Strong analytical skills in problem-solving and making timely decisions.
Good interpersonal skills, decision-making skills, and influencing skills to deal with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven track record of positive warehouse management.
Possess numeracy and an understanding of finance for stock management.
People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead, and motivate a team (minimum team size of 40 or more), delegate work, and explain ideas.
The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Emphasize accuracy and attention to detail, with initiative and decisiveness, believing in a "can-do" approach to complete projects.
